How to Use Jetta GPS On-Course Mode and Review Your Round at Home

A scorecard tells you how many strokes you took. A recorded round helps you remember the choices behind them. Jetta’s GPS On-Course Mode lets you capture real shot locations, clubs, lies, and putting, then revisit the round on a larger screen at home.

Here’s how to build a recording routine that gives you useful information after the final putt.

Before you play: connect, sign in, and load the course

Open Jetta on your phone while you have an internet connection. Sign in to your player account, select the course, and let it load. Initial setup and the first GPS activity authorization require connectivity. Allow precise location access when your phone asks.

New to the controls? Choose Try 18-hole practice in GPS mode before your round. It walks you through recording with simulated positions. Practice stays on your phone and does not upload as a real round. Exit practice before recording your actual game.

On the tee: record your position and intention

Check the course and starting hole, open GPS mode, and select Tee location at your starting tee position. Choose the club and swing you intend to use before hitting.

If you want to compare plans, open Caddie Choices. Selecting a plan saves its target, club, alternatives, and the comparison shown at that moment. It records your intention; you still play the real shot yourself.

At the ball: finish the previous shot, then plan the next

After hitting, walk to your ball and select Ball location. That captures the endpoint of the previous shot and adds a stroke. Check the lie, choose your next club and swing, and repeat as you move through the hole.

If the detected lie is wrong, correct it using the available fairway, rough, bunker, or recovery controls. Where available, add conditions such as rough depth or hill direction. GPS and course boundaries cannot describe every detail of the situation, so your corrections matter.

A little recording effort makes the review more useful

Selecting the club, lie, and shot details takes a little extra time, especially while you’re learning the controls. The routine becomes easier with practice, and the purpose is to help you improve your golf.

The more accurately you record what you intended and what happened, the more useful your review will be. Take a few moments to capture the details when you can, while keeping pace with your group. You’re giving yourself—and your coach—better information to learn from after the round.

On the green: count the final putt once

Select On Green to enter the putting workflow. For each putt that stays out, select +1 Putt. For the final putt, select Holed out (+1); that button records the final stroke and completes the hole.

For a two-putt hole, select +1 Putt after the first putt and Holed out (+1) after the second. Don’t add the holed putt separately.

Use Undo last if you make a recording mistake. Open Hole review to check shots, distances, clubs, putts, and score while the hole is fresh in your memory. You can correct a wrong or missing shot club there.

Finish the round and confirm the upload

After the initial connected setup, Jetta saves your on-course GPS round locally in the browser on your phone during play. Finishing queues the completed round locally and starts uploading in the background. If upload doesn’t complete, the round stays queued for another attempt.

Check the upload status when you have a connection. Use Upload finished games to retry pending rounds. Keep the same browser and its stored data until upload is confirmed; local saving during play does not provide offline app startup.

At home: replay the round with your original plan in mind

On your computer, open Jetta and sign in with the same player account. Go to Player account → On-course replays, select your uploaded round, and choose Replay.

Use Play/Pause to follow the sequence or Previous and Next to examine individual shots. Navigate between holes to revisit the moments you want to understand.

For shots with a saved caddie plan, compare the recorded result, saved decision comparison, and endpoint relative to the selected target: left or right, short or long. Shots without a saved target show Target not recorded. Historical replay retains the comparison saved during the round.

Choose one useful question for your next lesson

Was your target sensible for your usual distance and accuracy? Did you leave enough room around the hazard? Did execution follow the plan?

A disappointing result can follow a sound decision, and a risky choice can get lucky. Review the choice and outcome separately before deciding what to change.

GPS records show locations and the information you entered; they do not diagnose clubface, swing path, or contact. Bring a specific shot sequence to your coach and use it to discuss a practical next step, such as a wider target or a simpler recovery.

Start with GPS On-Course Mode, explore PC Replay, or open Jetta to try the practice workflow before your next round.

Keep exploring Jetta.
